Why we started with a scanner

Paperwork has not gone away. Receipts for a claim, a signed form for school, a supplier's price list, a contract that arrives on paper. Most homes and small offices do not have a scanner, and the one at work is always busy. Everyone has a camera, though, in the phone and on top of the laptop screen. So the first tool we built was Cam Scanner: point any camera at a page and get a straight, clean PDF.

The next question is always the same: now I have a scan, how do I get the numbers into Excel? Or the words into Word, or five scans into one signed PDF. That is why Document to Excel, Document to Word, and PDF Studio sit right next to the scanner. Image, Print, Vector, Invoice, and Barcode came from the small jobs that usually come along with the same paperwork.

How we build

• Your files stay with you. The tools run inside your browser wherever possible. When a feature needs a server, like the optional AI Mode, the page says so before you use it, and the Privacy Policy names every provider.
• No account to start. Open a tool and use it. There is nothing to sign up for.
• Honest results. OCR and AI make mistakes. The tools show the source next to the result so you can check it, and the guides explain how to get better scans.
• Same look, everywhere. The site and the app share one design: cream paper, ink borders, orange and yellow, so you always know where you are.

How the site is funded

The tools are free. To pay for hosting and development, the site may show ads from Google AdSense outside the tool workspaces. Ads never see the files you open. See Advertising and consent.
